Relationships - Emotional Affair Recovery - 3 Lingering Bad Habits ...

While one of the introductory steps to physical or emotional affair recovery as the injured spouse is dealing with your negative emotions, it is imperative that your spouse stops this affair as soon as possible. In this article, we are talking about recovering from emotional affairs(the type without sexual activity) in particular. The following three points, are bad traits that he/she needs to cut completely, otherwise the affair is pretty much going on in some form.

1) Communication With The Other Individual Is Of Higher Priority

At least the worst hasn't come to pass, since this type of affair doesn't entail sexual contact between your spouse and the paramour. Your marriage is not immune to this possibility however. Especially when your spouse keeps talking to this individual, and connecting with them in a way that they should be talking and connecting with you. It is a gut-wrenching ordeal, finding out that your spouse is starting to develop feelings toward another individual, as the reason for them having a sudden emotional disconnect with you. Something that must be dealt with.

2) Devoting Less Time To You In Favor Of Their "Friendship"

Your spouse may go to great lengths to mask the length of time he/she devotes to this other person, in relation to the time they spend with you. They (your husband/wife) understand the repercussions of bringing this emotional affair out in the open. In some cases, in the early stages, your spouse may speak about this individual innocently, but not anymore once the emotional relationship develops. Honesty, trust, respect, loyalty, and transparency has now been breached. These things will no doubt, take some time to bounce back from while going through the emotional affair recovery process.

3) Shielding The Other Individual While Your Marriage Takes a Licking

You have a big problem to emotional affair recovery, if your spouse is being defensive of the other person, and is singling you out as the bad guy. They (your spouse) will try to make the situation look like it is your fault. Obviously, your spouse is just looking for a reason to create further rifts in your marriage, so they can further their emotional affair aspirations. Your spouse must overcome this.

- Knowing How to Survive Emotional Infidelity -

Communication between you and your spouse can help to get things back to the way they used to be, when your marriage was in happier times. A crucial aspect that is mandatory for healing your marriage.

There must be greater transparency in your marriage from here on. It may be one of the toughest things you've ever done as a married couple, but you all need to sit down and come to a compromise, on what level of interaction is okay and what is clearly forbidden. It goes without saying that these discussions with your spouse may create further tension, if it isn't done the right way.
