1. Jesuit ? The Tigers are a complete team with seven Division I signees and a game-ready backup at every position.
2. Durant ? The Cougars have two quality starters and the bats to back them up as Durant looks to take on one of the toughest districts in the state.
3. Steinbrenner ? The Warriors had a disappointing end to the season in 2012, but its first four-year senior class is looking to get to the state series and has good pitching to help them get there.
4. Bloomingdale ? The Bulls, like Durant, will be in a battle of who's tops in the district, but have a good ace and a solid lineup.
5. Hillsborough ? The Terriers have a lot of bats and will need to find some pitching to back up a good No. 1 to contend in a district that is there for the taking.

Players to Watch
Pete Alonso, 3B, Plant ? The Florida commit has a lot of power and will lead a Panthers team with a number of good hitters and a lot of opportunities for RBIs.
Tyler Danish, P, Durant ? Coming off a summer program where he earned Most Valuable Pitcher honors in Perfect Game USA's wood bat tournament, the Cougars senior has improved steadily and is hungry after two straight district runner-up finishes.
Oscar Mercado, SS, Gaither ? A dynamic leadoff hitter and fielder, the Florida State commit is someone coach Frank Permuy values on a young squad: "He's a great kid, a hard worker and just a total package. There is no question who our captain is on and off the field."
Brett Morales, P/3B, King ? The Lions ace will have a heavy load to bare, but that shouldn't be a problem. After strong outings this summer with Perfect Game, the Gators commit looks to improve on his 6-1, 0.99 ERA, 58 strikeout junior campaign.
